The Accurate Insulin Decision (AID) program consists of new decision support tools and simplified protocols on mealtime insulin that are geared toward primary care. With the continued rise in rates of type 2 diabetes and the shortage of endocrinologists, primary care physicians (PCPs) are seeing more and more complex cases requiring a treatment approach that extends beyond oral medication or background insulin. The Society initiated the AID program to improve the understanding of insulin management among primary care physicians.
